What can I say, if the movie's name is I Hate ...( read more)Valentine's Day, well I hate I hate Valentine's Day. This is by far the corniest movie I ever seen in my life. Maybe women will enjoy all the chessy situations the leading character has and experience throughout the movie, but men like me will get bored from the very first minute of the movie. It is supposed to be a romantic comedy but there was no humor at any moment. Nia Vardalos has the leading role, I don't what but she has something in her personality that really annoys me,besides that her character is already annoying too. John Corbett dod a decent job. In conclusion, I Hate Valentine's Day was a completely wast of time and money. A movie not worthy to see and if you still want to, well you better wait for it on dvd.

    Cute romantic comedy. I love Nia & John from my big fat greek wedding. Nia is a little too anal about Valentines Day in this movie though. lol Got a little annoying since Valentines day is just a regular day to me....

    It was good to see the two main actors from 'My big fat greek wedding' together in this movie. Was something different. Sweet movie.

Apa iya, jurus jitunya tersebut akan selamanya mujarab? Komedi romantis ringan ala Hollywood ini memang memiliki alur cerita yang begitu standar dan mudah ditebak.

    Menjelang Hari Kasih Sayang, tak perlu diragukan lagi, setiap toko bunga pasti sudah bersiap-siap menyambutnya. Karena bunga merupakan ungkapan pernyataan sayang. Tak terkecuali Greg Gatlin (John Corbett), pria yang baru saja membeli bekas restoran pizza tak jauh dari toko bunga Genevieve. Greg ingin memberikan hadiah untuk kekasih hatinya, seorang pramugari. Genevieve pun memberikan jurus-jurus romantis pada Greg yang terlihat lugu dalam cinta. Tak dinyana, tips yang diberikan pada Greg untuk memberikan kejutan berupa bunga di atas tempat tidur sang kekasih justru membuatnya memergoki si pramugari sedang berasyik masyuk dengan pria lain.

    Sebagai orang yang begitu mencintai hari Valentine, Genevieve memang selalu mempunyai tips trik jitu masalah hubungan romantika bagi teman-temannya. Dia tak pernah patah hati, karena untuk setiap pria, setiap hubungan hanya dibatasi dengan lima kali kencan saja. Selebihnya pisah secara baik-baik, karena kesepakatan tersebut sudah dibuat sejak kencan pertama.

    2. Kencan kedua, tarik ulur
    3. Kencan ketiga, petualangan
    4. Kencan keempat, menyenangkan dan hebat
    5. Kencan kelima, kencan terbaik yang pernah ada, dan ucapan selamat tinggal

    Tinggalkan kenangan manis, dan kita takkan pernah sakit hati.. Tips ini juga yang diberikan pada Greg, ketika dia curhat setelah dicampakkan oleh si pramugari. Menurut Genevieve, berapa banyak pasangan yang terlihat bahagia? Sementara dia bisa bahagia setiap saat, karena tak pernah patah hati. Mereka pun sepakat mencoba trik lima kencan tersebut. Satu per satu kencan dilakoni sesuai urutan tahap yang disusun Genevieve. Pada saat tersebut, bisa ditebak, layaknya film romantis picisan. Benih-benih cinta pun mulai tumbuh di hati Genevieve. Mampukah dia konsisten pada teorinya?

    Kekisruhan terjadi, ketika terjadi kesalan perhitungan jumlah kencan. Pada kencan keempat, Genevieve menginap di tempat Greg. Sebenarnya teman-teman Genevieve sudah khawatir. Kencan keempat yang begitu menyenangkan dan hebat itu harus segera berakhir karena sudah sangat dekat dengan kencan kelima, yang berarti hubungan harus berakhir. Mereka termasuk Genevieve pun berharap-harap cemas dengan kencan kelima. Ternyata justru lebih parah, Greg menyangka dia sudah menjalani kencan terakhir. Karena saat menginap, keesokan harinya dianggap sebagai kencan kelima.

    Berbagai kekonyolan dan keributan-keributan kecil mulai tampak membumbui kerenyahan film ini. Kesedihan mulai melanda Genevieve, ketika Greg tetap tidak mau melakukan kencan terakhir dan hampir semua orang bersenang-senang dengan pasangannya. Bahkan termasuk ibunya, orang yang pernah dikhianati oleh ayahnya pun sudah memiliki pasangan baru. Usut punya usut, ternyata strategi lima kencan milik Genevieve itu dilakukan karena takut dikhianati, takut pengalaman ibunya bisa menimpa dirinya. Saat sang ayah minta maaf, pendiriannya pun mulai melunak. Greg pun mulai luluh, justru mencoba melakukan kebodohan dengan membawa segala sesuatu yang tidak disukai dan dianggap menakutkan oleh Genevieve. Dan Greg juga melakukan hal yang baginya menakutkan, yaitu menyanyi. Film ini ditutup dengan adegan romantis. Sedikit menggelitik, namun terlalu standar sebagai komedi romantis.
