uhm again this was one of those movies i wanted to be so good so bad. i was disappointed 100% exactly but it really could've been better. it dragged on abit.Flixster - Share Movies
mmm, tipica pelicula de roba novias totalmente predecible... Le pongo dos estrellas porque tuvo una que otra escena chistosa...
A painfully predictable yet saccharinely sweet, happily-ever-after romantic comedy, this movie is bound to elicit a bunch of "Not again!" moans. If you've seen My Best Friend's Wedding, switch around the characters abit and there you have Made of Honor.
It relli wasn't tht good i mn i had asked ma cuzin 2 lets watch baby mama but i wanted 2 watch this as well n she din't wanna watch baby mama so.. we stuck n it was good but not lyk baby mama cuz came out the same tymm..
i know that this is a predictable film but that is what makes chick flicks great. its was sweet and romantic, and in my mind quite funny in parts.
its all about two friends tom and claire who after ten years of being stuck by each other's side through thick and thin we see that tom bailey (dempsey) has fallen in love with claire and wanst to take it further between them but by the time he's ready to say claire is back from a business trip with a scottish duke who she will marry in two weeks. now you can see where it goes from there with hic ups, same idea as my best friends wedding with a few twists.
the cast have good chemistry in fact, its funny and then serious in the right parts. yes it has the same idea as my best friends wedding but that just seems to drag on whereas this is more light and plausable, some people may go to this etent to show that they're their soulmate.
its a lovely film which i think has plenty romantic and sweet moments when they realise something between them and they look at each other. that will make you smile even if its a twitch, its an original cliche chick flick which is what we like girls, aint it?
just see and if you think its shit well then you will like other films,
I wasn´t intrested in this movie, but my friend insisted me to go and see it so I did it and I feel sorry about that, here´s why:
I have stated before how much I hate romantic comedies, at least the one's that are the same concept over and over again, just different actors, but I had a chance to see Made of Honor for free today and I figured, why not? I mean, the thing is that you really have to give movies a chance, sometimes, you never know, your doubts are put behind you and you find yourself enjoying the movie. I mean, I love Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan, both great actors and are a lot of fun to watch on screen. So together it seemed like this movie might have stood a chance, but unfortunately once again, this is the exact same movie that we've seen five million times. I know that to people who haven't seen the romantic comedy genre, this is new, but Hollywood is just running out of idea's sadly. This story is no different from any other romantic comedy we've seen.
Tom and Hannah have been best friends since college, Tom is the player who has had every girl, except Hannah. She has feelings for him, but hides it and he doesn't notice, but when she goes to Scotland for work, he realizes how much she means to him out of no where. Hannah comes back, but she's got a new thing going on, she's engaged, and Tom's plan to tell her how he feels is now ruined when she asks him to be her maid of honor. But Tom figures that he has a good chance to point out that she doesn't know her fiancée that well and that her and Tom "truely" belong together.
The thing is, you can predict every moment before you know it's going to happen, it's sad when you could write a similar script, and just put different actors in it, there is a good chance that people will fall for it, at least it's good to have that kind of chance at making money. Made of Honor isn't the most horrible movie by any means, it had good intentions, but I would recommend if you really want to see it, just wait for the rental. As cute as Patrick and Michelle are, the chemistry is off and the script is just amateur. You've seen this movie five million times, believe me if you're into the romantic comedy genre.
bored myself to tears. For a romantic comedy it is as funny as Vin Diesel on ice and as romantic as roaches making out. Suitable only for McDreamy freaks who would swoon over anything Dempsey does with no shame...
Quite interesting. Good story plot, with a bit of comedy in it. Patrick Dempsey is hilarious! Good movie. Definitely worth seeing.
I'm going to bury this film...This is a story of two people with no real problems in life. Been there, done that, just with different actors. The movie includes backhanded stereotypes either of the type of equality of the sexes (notice the reaction of Dempsey's friends when he annnounces that sleeping with too many women isn't always the best thing to do) or geographic stereotypes (the Scottish are ridiculously portrayed). Also, the way that the lack of and non-returnable love is shown is light and humorous, while in real life, not everything has a "and they lived happily ever after" ending. Just for the scenery of mezmerising Scotland, I'll be kind enough to give it one star.
This was alright, but very predictable. To be honest, if it hadn't been for Patrick Dempsey I probably wouldn't have made it to the end.
Gave me a warm, cozy feeling at the happy ending. But needed a conflict or dilemma to spice up the film
aaa. kocaakk ~
pas ntn bareng erin ma ood. ad kakek" ndirian nonton ini juga.dan tiap ad yg lucu dy ketawany telad sndiri gituu. HAHAHAA
gaqq bokep.yeay kocak x)
Patrick Dempsey was absolutely stunning on his role in this movie. It had a lot more inappropriate stuff then i liked, but other then that, it was great. The romantic scene in the bar was just too much. It was ahhhhhh. I wanted to cry when I saw it. They did a great job in making it funny yet romantic. With some conflict!!!
Yes the whole world knows Patrick Dempsey is McDreamy for nothing, but that's not enough to make this film succeed. It's not that his charisma on tv isn't as effective on the big screen. I liked him in Enchanted! But that film is way better than this one, plot-wise, script-wise, everything-wise.
The thing is, it won't take a lot for the viewer to realize someone thought of making another My Bestfriend's Wedding, without Julia Roberts. It's not only unoriginal, for a chick flick, it lacks romance. I couldn't remember one single romantic line. Uhm I think Patrick tried to, once, twice? That's exactly the point. Dempsey and Monaghan's spark doesn't hold up. This is supposed to be a romantic comedy, but even the comedy part is wanting. The couples friends give out tired, cliched performances. Sadly, when movies try this hard, it's bound to fail.
People are comparing this to My Best Friend's Wedding, well maybe the idea, but other than that there's nothing to compare !!
I mean the jokes in this one weren't funny at all, it was way too predictable..
You absolutely feel like you've seen it all before..
Predictable and gives you a sense of major deja vu, put it's cute nonetheless and slips right into it's target audiences favourite genre, the rom-com.
I liked the actors; I thought there was pretty good chemistry; the supporting characters did a decent job; the dialogue was entertaining; and the plot is able to maintain your interest throughout the duration. All in all it was a fun, well-spent evening.
Pat's character was amusing! I liked how Scotland was the setting for a quarter of the film! :) A player was destined to finally settle! haha
A chick flick extraordinaire... nothing wrong with it!!! PD is not my cup of tea but is a cutie in this. Excellent concept but very My Best Friends Wedding.
this movie was a semi cute, yet semi weird chick flick. yes it had hot men and the usual sexual tension in a chick flick, but there was really nothing to it. i really didn't like it except that it was cute and had some pretty funny moments. i would suggest it to my friends but it's not really a see more than once movie. it had how you say...no pizazz.
I really liked this movie from beginning to end. You already know what the ending will be but it's still really cute.
If there's one thing which must be made clear first and foremost, this movie is worth watching just for Patrick Dempsey. This of course, goes out to the ladies.
On the general scale, this movie is funny, witty and enjoyable and in a certain point, it's a story everyone could perhaps relate to.
Although Made of Honor may run as a somewhat predictable chic-lit movie from a guy's point of view, it still is nonetheless - Enjoyable.
Aside from the majority of comments where this movie may seem too familiar to My Best Friend's Wedding (1997), my advice is to look past that and enjoy the movie.
This one makes great for dates by the way.
It was nice. A story between bestfriends and along the way of being friends they found someone whom they think is their loved one but once the girl was engaged and about to get married the guy realized that the girl was really meant to his life. And that he can't let the girl go.
after watch :
Stop making crap typical , predictable , nonsense romantic movie !The review FUGLY! A movie made you want to sleep because you already knew the end of the story , no excitement , no appeal , no a really memorable romantic scenes . All of this movie just a mixture (or a mix copies) of all typical romantic movies scenes .
Patrick Dempsey is very very boring actor , explore your talent !! Can you stop playing not so nice romantic comedies(Enchanted is exceptional) ? Well , if you can't , go back to ''Grey's anatomy'' , focus your career to Tv actor!
''Made of Honor'' only has one joke to laugh about . If you want to laugh hard , Never watch this movie!!
Michelle Monaghan and other cast , i can say nothing .
Overall :
"Made of Honor" can be nice only for first time romantic movie watcher .
Granted, it?s a romantic comedy plot we?ve seen many times before... Of course parts of it are predictable; but competent acting, a little chemistry, and a genuinely funny script is what makes a romantic comedy good ? not surprise twists and turns...
The role reversal in this rom-com really ups the laughs as Tom is forced to rely on his male friends for support to ?steal the bride,? while Hannah?s friend?s submerse him in a world ruled by estrogen and advise him on his typically female-role...
