MCT:September 1, 2008Meet The Spartans was exactly what I expected it to be. It was just like the movies Date Movie, and Epic Movie. The only thing was is that Meet The Spartans was better than all of those. So if you liked Date Movie or Epic Movie you should like Meet The Spartans. Mostly the entire movie it was all funny at one scene or another, just some tried to hard to be funny. I thought that the way they made this movie just like 300 was pretty sweet. They mixed up all the other scenes with other movies and not just 300 such as Rocky Balboa, Ghost Rider, Transformers, and Stomp The Yard. So what im saying is that if you don't like movies where they make fun of other movies then you will probably not like this movie, and i don't recommend it to you. I wrote such a short review because this movie doesn't have much to write about. Just see it for yourself and find out. It was very funny but it was just way to boring and stupid. It took place all in one area. Overall average with a little bit of good.

Well I wasn`t sure to see this movie at the beginning, cause I hate Epic Movie, and also i don`t saw the complete trailer.
So i decided to watch it (why?), and was just the same than the other one.
Stupid, bad effects, no story, AND NOT FUNNY. I dont want to say more, just don't see it please -
MCT:August 30, 2008The hope for a really good spoof have been dwindling with every release, but this one is actually not bad. The homosexuality suggestions and inserts between the main characters is great, but skipping into bthe distance hand in had to i will survive was my favorite bit. As was the demise of britney spears and a very accurate portrayal of paula abdul who should clearly be committed in real life.The youtube britney outburst, the you got served and the reference to cgi is good too. Mostly i found amazing was that not having looked at the lead actor before watching and then slowly thinking i know this guy but where from - then realising that it was SEAN MAGUIRE! made me chuckle - i bought his album as a teenager and watched eastenders, dangerfield cause he was in them lol i knew he had moved stateside years ago for a sitcom role but i hadn't seen him in years and well done sean! Carmen needs to retire, looking to old i'm afraid and mainly just not sexy but slutty cheap. sorry carms.

I love a good parody. This is not one of them. In what basically amounts to an extended fart joke, this movie shatters the bounds of good taste. They go way too far with the gross-out humour, missing the humour and leaving us with just a big gross-out. There were some chuckles, but they were too few and far between. Some of the few bits that did elicit a laugh were then stretched out to the point that they became annoying. I kept watching, thinking that it had to get better. It didn't. This movie was a complete waste of time. Instead, just take a fork and give yourself a lobotomy. You'll be better off.

Great first 45 minutes or sow (even though I haven't seen 300), but then it was all downhill from there. I think they used all their great spoofs in the beginning, so the last 45 minutes were just boring. But it gets 3 stars for the beginning.

Meet the Spartans essentially uses one specific film as its springboard, last year's surprise historical action hit 300. With its combination of stylized ultra-violence, rampant homoeroticism and self-serious attitude.

Having recently watched Epic Movie I can say this parody movie wasn't that bad!
Some funny moments but it did rely too heavily on repeating its jokes.
Watch it if you like spoof movies & general immature humour ~ otherwise give it a miss. -

Definitely the most retarded parody I've ever watched, even then I skipped various scenes which were just too unbearable. If it continues in this direction there will be a an "Ass Movie" sooner rather than later. Heh this is just too pathetic.

i avoided this in cinema because i knew it be bad, so a one and a half star is more than i thought id give it, 2 times where a joke was very funny, was something i wasent expecting, and carmen electra, stunning throughout, sh so hot in this, and one thing, all the gay jokes, 300 did that on its own, theres no need to make a spoof of that

Admiting it did have some funny moments but at the end, it just comes to the part where you decide what to rate this movie and thats where you really think and then realise how stupid the movie was made, i know it supposed to be stupid but there is something we call over-stupidity and that was the problem.
But oh well, i guess we keep seeing more of this movies now days, they keep coming none-stop.. -

With Meet the Spartans, Aaron Seltzer and writing partner Jason Friedberg are finally moving in the right direction with their film parodies. This movie centers almost entirely on just one movie, 300, and not an equal scatter shot of dozens of films. The best jokes are the ones that rip on 300 and the worst are the ones that use other references. Okay, I did laugh at the Brittany Spears jokes, or as the movie puts it, "It's Brittany, bitch!"
English actor Sean Maguire does a great job as Leonides. He looks the part, painted on abs and all. Meet the Spartans follows the plot of 300 fairly closely. It begins with Leonides growing up to be king of Sparta. He trains his son just like they did in 300, only he includes WWE type body slams and hits his son with a chair. The jokes work well when they exaggerate the plot in 300. When the messenger arrives to discuss Leonides's surrendering, Leonides tells him, "Lets go talk by the pit of death." to which the messenger cheerily responds, "Okay."
When Leonides's second in command gathers his army of 13 and not 300, he tells him he got the men that fit his requirements. The are all good looking and hung. The movie is full of gay jokes about these guys. Come on, a bunch of muscular men running around in leather Speedos are just asking for it. Gay jokes that is. The men skip everywhere. It's a running joke. Or would that be a skipping joke?
The jokes miss whenever another movie reference is thrown in. Carmen Electra turns into Spiderman in a completely pointless scene, but the worst moment comes when the 13 do battle with an army of Xerxes by dancing. The Stomp the Yard joke dries up in seconds yet it drags on for minutes.
Luckily, Meet the Spartans, for the most part, stays focused on spoofing 300. The 13 do battle with Xerxes army and a blue screen. They get betrayed and Meet the Spartans ends just like 300, only with a musical number. Meet the Spartans is the best movie parody since Scary Movie. -

This film is one of the worst films of out time. The comedy was unfunny, and this film was very dissapointing. This is a really rubbish mock film of 300. The story: The heroic Leonidas, armed with nothing by leather underwear and a cape, leads a ragtag group of 13--count 'em, 13!--Spartans to defend their homeland against the invading Persians (whose ranks include Ghost Rider, Rocky Balboa, the Transformers and a hunchbacked Paris Hilton). No one is safe when the Spartans take on the biggest icons in pop culture. No one should see this film because it so boring, unfunny and just boring really. I will never see this film again in my entire life. The film itself was just a waste of production money and a waste of time to produce. The worst film of 2008 and possibly ever. Nobody should see this film.

This movie was pretty good. At the begining it had some funny parts and few a in the middle, but the end was pretty lame. I liked the Yo Momma jokes part and when he was kicking people into the whole. It was sooo funny at that party!! Watch it!
