Ahhh man,get the tissues ready for this one. This is one of the sweetest love stories I have ever seen.I love Hillary Swank already, she played this amazingly well.Much better than I expected,The few bad reviews on this I read,I dont know if me and those folks were even watching the same movie.Very good, highly recommended!
I didn't know anything about the film before I started to watch it, but it turned out to be an excellent one! It was predictable from a certain point onwards, but who cares!
Hilary Swank was extremely fascinating from the very beginning to the end.
The Opening scene set the movie on a very good track, showing the very cool relation between the couple, before the incident.
If a movie succeeds in moving my feelings, then it's really good.......And this one certainly did.
book is much better.....movie is ok...the relationship holly shared with gerry....ws nt potrayed dat well.....it ws abrupt....i luvd da book...da roles were well suited...dey changed a lot of things....
i loved this movie. the story is lovely and the acting is great. u'll start missing gerry the moment you know he's dead and u'll look forward to his letters.
This was not at all like I had imagined it was going to be! I thought it was cool how they showed "the past" life she had with her husband before he died, while telling the story about what happens to her AFTER he dies!
Did not like how they suddenly were attending his funeral tho without any warning whatsoever. Even tho you know WHY they did it that way, I still would have preferred a few more details around that time, rather than just suddenly he is no longer alive.
Loved that she finally worked out how to get on with her life and who she is as a person without the man she loves. Kinda disappointed that she didn't hook up with the friend by the end, but kinda NOT disappointed because even tho SHE was right for HIM, I didn't really think HE was right for HER.
Enjoyed the movie, the ending was just okay. Will watch it again but wouldn't buy it.
And I LOVE Gerard Butler.... *mmmmmmmmmm* (Hilary Swank was pretty cool too!)
If anyone has ever lost a spouse or close loved one, YOU must watch this movie! It's not just a chick flick but rates up there with Fried Green Tomatos! Get your box of kleenex ready!
Loved this movie...recommend that everyone sees this one...great date movie. Got to admit I did have to get out the kleenex box but I really loved this movie!
This movie was a little long at first, but finally kicked on towards the last half. HillarySwank was really good in this movie. She usually is. Movie was a little sad, but had some funny moments as well.
this movie is really cute, and it shows that loves is something we all need and the pain of losing this loved one and the way this is played out is not really something that is real but a lot of people wish it was, the feeling of losing someone is hard and painfull, but we all go through it one way or another, this movie made me laugh and cry too, i'm not a person that easily crys but this one did, i guess i was in a sobby kind of mood lol
Pretty good considering it is a chick flick, oh who am I kidding. That was SO depressing. I felt like just getting up and leaving, but movie tickets are so expensive. Oh. and one more thing; Hilary Swank...please.
Definitely worth watching. I love all things Irish, so I enjoyed it. Cool movie quote: "... he's a boyo, he doesn't know anything about kissing. Kissing is a man's business..." :)
I am only giving this 2 stars because there were a number of scenes shot in Ireland otherwise it would have been 1.5. Yes, I was in the mood for a chick flick and aside from Gerard Butler's cute accent (although he's Scottish, people!) and Denny Duquette's poor excuse for one, this movie was a flop. Romantic conceptually? Yes. Romantic movie? No.
i have seen thsi movie and cryed through the whole thing, even when i was laughing!! great movie and cast, thsi is really a magical movie! and gerard butler is so sexy expecaily in phantom!!!
I am not a big fan of Hilary Swank but I do like this film. It is a chick flick but never the less I like it. You get to laugh and you get to cry.
A good sundayafternoon movie.
