Blood and Money

The title lets you know that what you've got on the label is what you've got in the can.

None of which can disguise the flaws: a boilerplate screenplay with more function than flavor; slack editing to pad out the running time; and absurd plot developments like a bullet Jim takes to the chest which bothers him about as much as a mosquito bite.

The film has just enough wasted potential to be a near-miss.

It's man vs. nature, himself, clichés, and a horrible script in this anemic thriller that pits a worthy Tom Berenger against some genuinely god-awful storytelling.

Similar to "Uncut Gems," the film attempts to make you care about a character who's not really likable and whose uninterrupted greed constantly calls down immediate karmic retribution upon his head, which you're then forced to be annoyed by.

Tom Berenger endows the main character with a world-weary persona that moved me in every scene of this excellent snowy thriller.
