This film may well have been well produced. It was dark and it was supposed to be. It had that melancholy feeling to it throughout. Well acted. However, it was a snooze fest. People often say "It was alright for an Australian film". I used to hate that, and tried to be patriotic, but Australia can make some awful films at times.

Interesting but slow moving story. For me it was lacking in the humour department.

Brilliantly executed dark comedy with an underlying twisted family drama for good measure. Achieves a great balance between humour and emotion.

This film made my top ten films for 2018. Single location thriller done exceptionally well. For the full review see vanessasnonspoilers.com

ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH MOVIE! This has to be the worst Austalian movie I have seen. The plot was slow and negative not a comedy at all, to make things worse the ending was disgusting and disturbing. DONT WATCH IT!!

Thank God for Brothers' Nest, I was genuinely worried that 2018 didn't have anything great left to offer me. Australia has a pretty grim take when it comes to the "Dark Comedy" genre, and Brothers' Nest is absolutely no exception. But if you think of it as less of a comedy and more of a Crime Drama that you'll probably laugh in (and then maybe feel kinda bad), then you'll do well.

    pretty amazing dark comedy

Starts off as a bit of a funny awkward Aussie film then progressively (and quite naturally) turns dark. The suspense building throughout the second half of the movie made it almost more of psychological thriller! Wonderful movie for anyone that likes something a bit different and a bit dark.

If you are not a fan of the Cohen brothers' work then you may not enjoy this Jacobsen brothers gem. A slow burner that delves into the intracies of familial angst and finishes with jaw dropping intensity. The best one liner: "Just family shit..." Wow!
