Cold Meat combines three different kinds of thrillers into one. For the most part, the mixture is pretty convincing.

Despite some missteps, it all manages to come together in the end. Strong performances paired with an engaging story ensure Cold Meat remains an entertaining watch.

Just as it could be a road movie, it could be an introspective nightmare of survival, but – as we soon find out – there’s more, far more than the cold to contend with here.

Drouin finds clever ways to keep the characters and the audience on edge, stripping a familiar serial-killer narrative down to its bare essentials.
