[An] uproariously funny black comedy.

Everyone looks like they're having fun, which is more than can be said for me.

Both epically flimsy and oddly lingering.

The richness and strangeness of the comedy is somehow simply down to Dujardin's frowningly serious and haughty face.

The most terrifying fashion film since The Devil Wears Prada, Deerskin is a deliciously ridiculous farce played largely straight. This is a jacket you will feel the benefit of.

This is a willfully dumbed-down, emptied-out version of Hitchcock, as if the goal were to prove that the mechanisms of suspense still appeal to the lizard brain no matter how stupid the overt "content".

It takes only an hour and a quarter to show Dupieux's obsessions with the expressive mechanisms of cinema, without ever losing the surprising side. [Full review in Spanish]

If you come to the movie on its own terms and just go with the nuttiness, you’ll find a wickedly entertaining and devilishly funny yarn that plays by its own bizarre set of rules.

The opportunity was present to create a unique experience, but nothing seems to have been built on that foundation.

Absurdly funny and very bloody. Dujardin is both hilarious and deeply melancholic as a man with the world's first interesting midlife crisis.
