Mission Mangal

One of the most inspiring and best movies ever made. It's so heartfelt and features great characters played by fantastic actors. All in all a must see.

If you're thinking on the lines of "gravity" and "the martian", this movie is way off from those movies. Really, i cant see what's thought that was going in minds of writers while writing this movie. There are many worsts and loopholes that makes up this movie, best worst is the screenplay and characters which make up this movie. Cant believe, Akshar and Vidya, protagonist of this movie accept that kind of script.

"Mission Mangal" is pretty interesting and well-intentioned enough to make it worthwhile. This movie presents a story that is worth learning about and has some very solid performances to boost it. While I felt pretty entertained by the movie, I did feel the story became to focused on the emotional conflicts of the characters and sometimes put the most interesting plot point in the backseat. I also thought some of the visual effects near the end were just not that convincing, considering this is a pretty new movie. Still, I liked the story and characters enough to recommend the movie, but I can't help but feel it could have been polished up a bit and been a more rewarding experience.

Its an amazing movie, quite informative, exciting, thrilling!

No film based on true events in Bollywood this year was as coherent as this one, based on the Mars Mission which India's space authority ISRO aced in 2014. It came with silly science and only was an exercise to make the idea of everyday stuff relatable products in rocket science. But it's emotional highs and feminist, nation-loving core was so strong that it made the film and experience of its kind. But what's more is that CGI for the rocket launching, and especially the pride-regulating last minutes which I loved- all of these came with a strong visual effect structure. When the satellite landed on the orbit and finally a full picture of Mars produced on screens, you feel a shoot of pride for the nation. In these bits, you have to commit that you actually enjoyed a scientific event. I am a total sucker for romances, so the love story of these scientists with their ambitious careers and the nation appealed to me, despite the pop patriotism on display. Vidya Balan is far from the film's ambitions- she is restrained, filtered and amazingly transformed as Tara Shinde. Her role has been directly inspired from the managing director Dr. Ritu Karidal (and quiet smartly). But there is a homegrown flare to her inner woman- one who knows that there's a power beyond science- and well, we know that, since in the film's opening shots we see her hair bound in the towel, chanting mantras and offering puja to the gods. She has the middle-class values in a high-class society, her home science skills coinciding with the space science. And she also slays the game in the sweetly sentimental science, something which might consume, but I see it as a story-striking problem. But all in all, she delivers consistently and thoroughly what can be called the unique essence of her strong character in a unique film.

This movie is the epitome of trash movies where the makers have sworn to not put any efforts to stay close to facts or even create good fiction. It shines light on the fact that the makers of the movie have no remorse about misleading the audience and no shame in bringing complete trash to the screens. The movie is an insult to ISRO, India, women scientists, any other scientist and to the movie industry in general.
