In which Moana and her friends take a long boat ride to another island. That's about as it as far as plot goes in a film which feels as if it's been passed through the hands of a hundred focus groups. I'm sure the hearts of the people involved were all in the right place, but ultimately it all feels perfunctory and somewhat pointless. The songs are forgettable and the jokes flat; there are. at least, a few moments where the visuals are strikingly beautiful. But there's little in the way of story or character to really deepen the experience beyond the surface level. Ultimately, it's all case of what could or should have been.

The movie itself was good although it was a bit similar to the original. However, the music was very forgettable.

This film was truly remarkable, captivating, and thoroughly enjoyable! I appreciated every aspect, from the music to the powerful narrative and the introduction of new characters. I have a strong sense that a third installment is on the horizon, and I genuinely hope it happens!

Felt a little rushed music wasn’t as great but still a great movie overall and very beautiful animation, loved the end.

Moana 2 animation is kinda undesirable, and the story is lackluster.

One of the most unfunny, boring, and predictable movies I’ve ever seen

I understand the original Moana is a tough act to follow, but man did I dislike the music in Moana 2. The rhymes were forced and the melodies just felt like random meandering. The songs sounded more like when someone sings to themselves about the mundane tasks they're doing to pass the time than production quality disney movie songs. On the bright side, I guess I didn't get any of them stuck in my head. But overall a big letdown.
