Phobias

So while Phobias doesn’t get as exploratory as it could have with the subject matter, its approach isn’t entirely clinical, either.

Phobias is a respectable addition to this increasingly rare genre and as far as hooks go, it has a good one.

The ambitious concept of the horror flick Phobias is so terribly mishandled that the end result is a movie that relies on boring and over-used clichés. The movie's tone and acting are uneven. The screenwriting is sloppy.

In their efforts to mesh the supernatural with the super-powered, the filmmaker quintet establishes its own macabre identity.

This is one of my favorite anthology horror movies.

Those hesitant to get in on yet another mixed-bag horror anthology have nothing to be scared of - Phobias is the real deal.

While the overarching narrative falters, the individual segments are done very well. Strong performances make this a fun watch for any horror fan.

The film ends up neither truly scary nor all that engaging, despite the best efforts of some of the segments.

The framing story doesn't add much to the other segments, though, and those segments mostly just peter out rather than end properly.

Really great to look at with great music... But essentially, this is pretty dispensable.
