This movie spooked me out as a 5-year-old - and it took me over 30 years to find it again. The freaky Martian with the painted face and netted mask haunted my mind since childhood. I was disturbed by the alien's plot to abduct the kids with a trail of Smarties. The martian reminded me of the creep-ass "Child Catcher" from the "Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang" movie. Additionally, the high-flying rocket skis over the village fueld my fear of heights. Re-watching "The Christmas Martian" as an adult, it's simply a low-budget 70's French-Canadian kids' movie.
