The approach this movie takes towards friendship and love, focusing on the latter without delving into unnecessary romances, is exceptionally beautiful. It presents a compelling exploration of finding purpose in a solitary life. This film underscores the idea that friendship can manifest in various forms and appear unexpectedly in our lives. Embracing these connections and actively engaging with them can lead to some of the most fulfilling moments we experience.

Very original story, excellent acting, somewhat quirky but relatable and well developed characters. It's true, the ending is abrupt; this is not your typical "happily ever after" movie, and there is sadness as well as humor - it is bittersweet. To me, this is a movie primarily about the power of kindness, but also about the ephemerality of things. Maybe it's only the beginning of the story, and maybe we should feel free to make up our own next chapter(s).

Spoiler alert Ughh I'm sorry this movie's magic was the anticipation of the ending. Do they get together or not? You're almost positive they will. You don't build intimacy of off a friendship. You build it off being something more. Most romances build off the pain of the disconnect then reconnect (which they give you). But to not offer up them getting together was to build an entire movie off of romantic anticipation and then to not conclude it. "Ohhh but it wasn't a romance - that's the point" BS THIS WAS A ROMANCE. And to try to deny it isn't introspective or edgy or brilliant. It's just absurd and outright false. So to not give the audience the satisfaction of a romantic ending is evil. Here's the best example that I think really brings it home: it's like a Mission Impossible movie where they end the film in the middle of the final action sequence. That's not good film making. That's bad film making. They overthought trying to be outside the box with the ending and ruined the entire as a result. She should have met that baby and then it cut to a scene of them in Vermont with a toddler.

During the whole movie I expected something interesting to happen but disappointed. The relationship between the leads doesn't seem believable to me. Could be watched to kill some time.

Together Together is a heartwarming and insightful movie that explores the unconventional journey of a single man who chooses to have a surrogate mother carry his child. The film follows the relationship between Matt (Ed Helms), a 40-something app developer, and Anna (Patti Harrison), his 26-year-old surrogate, as they navigate the ups and downs of pregnancy and parenthood. Director and writer Nikole Beckwith has crafted a thoughtful and honest portrayal of the complexities of modern family-building. The film is a refreshing departure from typical Hollywood tropes, with its focus on the emotional and psychological aspects of surrogacy instead of relying on cheap laughs or melodrama. The chemistry between Helms and Harrison is palpable and their performances are both nuanced and heartfelt. The supporting cast, including Tig Notaro and Julio Torres, add depth and humor to the story. Overall, Together Together is a poignant and charming film that offers a fresh perspective on the meaning of family. It's a must-see for anyone who values authenticity and human connection in cinema.

    Nice and good movie ….

I have given this half of the stars as it was only half of a movie. I found the ending too abrupt with no closure leaving me feeling like I had wasted an hour and a half of my time. I basically watched 2 awkward people navigate pregnancy but then the movie ended before the conclusion. I may be old fashioned but a still think a good story needs a beginning, a middle and an ending but this missed the ending. Would have given it 5 starts as I really enjoyed what I watched but needed more.

"Together. Together" is one of those films that makes you take a step back away from your own life and observe the complicated predicament of someone else's. It left me wanting a companion, not necessarily someone I'm attracted to, just connected in a weird and wonderful way.

I love how this not turned into a random love story. I liked the sense of humor and especially the acting of Ed Helms. A really charming and fun movie. Perfect for a chilled watch in the evening.

What a boring but kinda cute movie about a man and his surrogate. It's pretty predictable but it's a nice slow change of pace compared to what I'm used to. In the end not a fan but I like Ed helms in these indie movies.
