This is basically a crappy knockoff of Star Wars: A New Hope mixed with some Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

The fact that this movie was made after movies with half decent special effects is baffling. They should just not have made this thing. I think I could do better with my phone.

If not for MST3K's version of this, it it absolutely horrid.

A delightful bad Fantasy film made entirely in Argentina for US audiences. A combination of hideous acting, laughable story & just cheesy fun. The story of a young wizard searching for a magic stone to destroy the evil wizard controlling his kingdom. The film is atrocious but really funny for example the young wizard's main sidekick is a creature that honestly looks no different than a mattress protector. Will appeal greatly to bad film enthusiasts & Is a lot of fun. Great dodgy special affects also.

A king is killed by an evil wizard. The king's young son is an apprentice wizard and decides to take on the evil wizard with help from his monster and a somewhat reluctant warrior. Goofy effects and costume design just add to this. A fantasy swordplay film geared toward children (though there is some rather scary stuff and the young wizard does visit a garden where attractive women seem to "take care" of boys his age). The final battle has the worst effects. This one is in my list of PG-rated movies with boobs.

As a kid I remember this being the worst movie I ever saw.

Alright, I would give this a 5 star rating but only based on its "Good, Bad" movies status. I love films that you can say afterwords "Wow, someone paid for that to be made." and this my friends is one of the best. Simply put, Shurka the dark wizard takes the kingdom by force for power and a ring, Simon the young white wizard loses his father Wulfrick and the ring bestowed upon him. Simon escapes with his seven foot tall Wampa named Gulfax and sets out to reclaim the kingdom with help by Bo Svenson, who's overly emotive acting is award worthy. The great thing is you know from the beginning that Simon has to defeat Shurka, and everything in between is filler. The quick, bloodless battle, insect queens and force field generating gnomes put Simon through the test to regain control over the land and get the girl before Shurka exercises his kingly right of pedophilia. This film is not for everyone, only those who have watched the best film has to offer and need to experience the worst. Manos, LaserBlast, Arena, MetalStorm, all Great/Bad movies that stand the test of time, Wizards of the Lost Kingdom sits pretty with them, and if you still cant find the justification to watch this, Shurka maims, beats, and kills his many dwarfs who fail him. Off the record, 5 STARS!

This was a firm favourite when I was a teen whenever I needed a giggle, it truly is one of those "so bad it is good" films, genius.
