A$AP Ferg

Trinidadian-American rapper A$AP Ferg was born in New York City and grew up in Harlem. Ferg's first ambition was to own a clothing line in honor of his late father, which he launched while still in school. Since 2005, his designs have been worn by various artists, including Chris Brown. It wasn't until 2009, however, that his musical career took off, as he developed his own aggressive trap style of hip-hop and joined the A$AP Mob collective, along with A$AP Rocky, one of his major collaborators. Ferg's debut single, "Work," was dubbed one of the best songs of 2012, and his subsequent album, "Trap Lord" (2013) debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200 chart. That same year, he was lauded Rookie of the Year at the BET Hip Hop Awards. His next single release, "Dope Walk", in 2015, coined a viral dance of the same name. Ferg's second album, "Always Strive and Prosper" (2016), was followed by extensive collaborations and ad campaigns for brands such as Adidas and Tiffany's. Ferg remained prolific in his creative endeavors, releasing three more albums since: "Still Thriving" (2017), "Floor Seats" (2019), and "Floor Seats II" (2020).
