Gus Birney
Gus Birney was an American actress who broke out in 2017 when she joined the cast of the Stephen King-inspired horror series "The Mist" (Spike, 2017- ). Born and raised in New York City, Birney had acting in her DNA. Her parents were both veteran New York actors, appearing on both stage, as well as television, so it was only a matter of time before Gus got the acting bug too. For Birney, it happened in her early teens. She started going on commercial auditions at the age of 13, and quickly landed a nationwide spot for a skin care company. After her early success with commercials, Birney continued auditioning primarily for film and TV roles, and after briefly dabbling with professional modeling, she nabbed a part in an Off-Off Broadway play called "Connected" which would prove to be the impetus that launched Birney's screen acting career. In addition to landing a part in the indie film drama "Darcy" (2017) about a misunderstood young teenager living in the motel owned by her family, Birney also nabbed a supporting role in the horror series "The Mist." Based on a Stephen King novella of the same name, "The Mist" was previously released as a film directed by Frank Darabont, in 2007.
