June Storey

Petite, blonde, blue-eyed leading lady who rode the range with the beloved singing cowboy Gene Autry in ten enjoyable western programmers churned out at a furious rate by Republic Pictures from 1939-40. After Autry enlisted to fight in WWII, Storey proved her competence in a wide variety of genres--melodramas, comedies, films noir and crime movies--in addition to musical westerns. In the years after her film career ended, Storey continued to appear at western memorabilia festivals.
