Kathryn Prescott

Kathryn "Kat" Prescott started her career as an actor in the British television show, "Skins" (BBC America, 2007-10), in which she portrayed Emily Fitch, a young woman struggling to accept her sexuality. Prescott wrote and directed her first narrative short, "Jane" which was released in 2019. It's the story of a young woman suffering from heroin addiction and living in a low-income residential hotel. Prescott's first documentary short, "Gina" (2022), was made in association with Homeless Health Care Los Angeles and presents a glimpse into the life of an unhoused woman living on Skid Row. The film won Best Documentary Short at Austin Film Festival and First Prize Documentary Short at Flickers Rhode Island International Film Festival. In 2021, Prescott was struck by a cement truck while crossing the street, suffered multiple injuries and had to learn to walk again. Her first narrative feature, "Ema", is currently in development.
