Paul Sawtell

Paul Sawtell's musical talents have contributed to a variety of Hollywood productions. Sawtell began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like "Wagon Train" (1940), the George Sanders mystery "The Gay Falcon" (1941) and "A Date With the Falcon" (1941). His music also appeared in "Scattergood Rides High" (1942) and the Lucille Ball western "Valley of the Sun" (1942). In the forties, Sawtell's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like "For You I Die" (1948), the Dennis O'Keefe documentary "T-Men" (1948) and "Raw Deal" (1948). He appeared multiple times in Peter Jackson's epic "Lord of the Rings" franchise, including roles in "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" (2001), "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" (2003) and "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" (2002). Sawtell's music was also featured in "Monkey on My Back" (1957) with Cameron Mitchell, the adaptation "The Deerslayer" (1957) with Lex Barker and the Ronald Colman comedic drama "The Story of Mankind" (1957). His music was also featured in "Stopover Tokyo" (1957) with Robert Wagner and the drama "Machete" (1958) with Mari Blanchard. Sawtell was most recently credited in "The Water Horse" (2007) with Emily Watson. Sawtell passed away in August 1971 at the age of 65.
